Audi A6 Bags Autocar Asian Car of the Year 2012 title 


The Audi A6 is the winner of the inaugural Autocar Asian Car of the Year award, recognising the best new car from across the entire Asian continent.


"It is a great thing for us to win this award.  This is the inaugural Award, we are the first winners and non can ever take that away from us.  We are extremely happy and very thankful that you have chosen us and I think the car deserves it.   We are very pleased to have won this award especially after it has been voted for by so many editors of Autocar in Asia." - Peter Schwarzenbauer, Board Member for Marketing and Sales at Audi AG.

The award is the region’s first and only multi-market award recognising the best production car across the Asian continent. A list of 45 contenders was narrowed down to six finalists – the Audi A6, Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Passat, Kia Sportage, Ford Fiesta saloon and the Volvo S60. The winner was chosen by a panel of 18 auto experts from each edition of Autocar published in the Asian region.
